Who Are Sonographers?

Thinking about a career in Allied Health? At NCE we have medical training programs for optometric assistants; medical assistants; lab assistants, EKG/phlebotomy techs; and our newest Allied Health training program, the ultrasound technician / diagnostic medical sonographer program.

As you are aware, NCE is an accredited career college that has been offering medical training to people in the Sacramento area for over 25 years.  Due to expected job growth of 24% between 2014 and 2024, NCE now offers accelerated, hands-on training for ultrasound technicians.

Sacramento’s hospital sector generates close to $12 billion per year, and new hospital construction is planned for coming years. Training to become a sonographer is a good career choice for people who want to work in the medical field, but cannot afford to study for 4+ years.

Diagnostic medical sonographers, or ultrasound technicians, operate a sonography machine to see what is happening inside the human body. Sonograms are familiar to most people for their use during pregnancy, but are crucial in diagnosing a range of medical problems.

Our current ultrasound technician students already know the value of their work, but for those people considering studying to become a diagnostic ultrasound technician here at the National Career Education college, we wanted to find a video that would inspire you!

We love our super hero sonographers on campus. Echoing this video, we think a sonographer’s amazing skills, knowledge and insight truly MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN PEOPLE'S LIVES!

Thank you for considering training to become a diagnostic medical sonographer at NCE! Sacramento hospitals need you, so call NCE today or go online to learn about program start dates and enrollment procedures.
